This is Zelda. She came into my life only two months ago through a rescue in my area. She had just given birth and raised 6 puppies to a healthy 8 weeks old and was ready to have all the attention back on herself.
There are several things that I have discovered about Zelda in the past few months. First, she is a lover. She loves other dogs, cats, and definitely people. Second, she is a licker. She loves to give kisses. Third, she can hold her own with much larger beasties than herself. Just ask Otto, her Plott Hound brother.
I bring her everywhere that I go, within reason, so that she likes people. Since she’s a small dog prone to resource guarding her person, I wanted to make sure that she was comfortable around people. Turns out, she’s doing really well with this, and although she still seeks the comfort of her momma’s lap, she likes to love on others too. So if you see us out and about, you might get some loves too.
Don’t hold her too close to your face unless you’d like a tongue bath from a 14 pound pro licker. It’s really hard to not want to cuddle her close, because she’s a very good cuddler. She really boroughs in.
She may be smaller than the cat, but she can definitely hold her own in any tussle. She’s fierce when she needs to be. Zelda can give her 60 pound brother a run for his money. She’s got that fast, sneaky thing going on. She’s also really smart and has learned to distract him, and then bound in to steal his toy or treat.
All-in-All she’s been a great addition to my life and I look forward to sharing our adventures with you.
