Missy Boo is finished. She has always looked crabby even when she’s purring and happy. I think that I was able to capture her pretty accurately. I miss her. She lives with my ex boyfriend and I haven’t seen her in a while.
Although she’s got resting Crabby face. I think that she’s actually pretty happy. She purrs up a storm as soon as you pick her up. She likes very cold water and has been known to dip her little paw in the water dish and lick it up that way. She’s sweet. I hope I can do her justice.
She’s one step closer to done! Little Miss Zelda. Never thought I would be a little dog person, but she’s got me wrapped around her little bitty paw. She’s just like a big dog, but in a little dog package and I love that about her.
I should be able to get her finished up tonight. I’ll then varnish all my latest creations and figure out where to display them. Then it’s onto the kitties in my life.
If you are interested in getting a pet portrait I have put up a listing on Etsy listing, click here.
This morning I got up with plans of heading to church with my sister and her family.
Unfortunately, we are getting a ton of snow. The roads were bad and as she lives 20 miles away I decided to turn around having witnessed three cars already in the ditch.
So instead here I sit with a warm cup of coffee, paints and brushes and my imagination.
It’s Zellie Bellies turn to be immortalized on canvas!
I really wish I could have made it to church, it’s been a while and I was looking forward to it, but painting is also a good way to spend a cold snowy Sunday morning.
My orchid finally bloomed again. I was give. This orchid two years ago. Of course it was blooming when I got it, but then the blooms died away with the stem. I kept watering it thinking that it would bloom again, but it didn’t. The. I noticed that the roots were cramped so I changed the pot and put fresh orchid mix in there and now look! I have a pretty orchid just in time to brighten things up on this yucky winter day.
Otto is just about done. I just have to touch up the background and give I’m a couple coats of varnish and he’s good to go. Next up my little Zelda.
Monday was a kitty cuddle kind of day. I woke up and could barely walk leaving me on a heating pad on my back while the kitties and Zelda took turns making sure I was properly cared for. No worries though my back is better, at least for the most part anyway.
Harper took most of these home, but I will have you know that I accomplished the task of eating all the cookies she left behind. This is an accomplishment that I not so proud of, but they were yummy after all.
The last item I don’t have a picture of but I am happy to report that I am once again able to park my car in the garage. It is just in time for this ugly snowstorm too. Unburying my car is not something I am very fond of and I have been doing a lot of it recently.
I haven’t been that diligent this week with my posts, but I vow to pick it up next week!
This my second attempt at Otto. I am liking so much more how this version is coming out. He’s just so handsome and I didn’t feel like the first version did him justice.
I am contemplating taking commissions for pet portraits and I would love to hear your thoughts. I have seen some really great artists out there doing pet portraiture, and it makes me nervous to put myself out there, but I just love painting pets! Would you buy one?
Finished up my girl. This is post glaze, but I still need to touch up around the whisker there on the right and get some varnish on it.
I got some paint brush markers for Christmas and tried my hand at a quick drawing of my little Zelda girl. Turned out better that I thought for a quick sketch.
I also started a new painting of my Otto-man. This is really rough yet, I really struggle with brindle coats. I haven’t figured out a technique that I like yet. I overwork them.
It’s coming along! There’s still some work to do, but I love how it’s turning out. I have tried several times in the past 12 years to paint my Tullahbee, but this is the first time that I have been able to do her beautiful self any justice. She’s such a pretty girl and I wanted to be able to capture that.
There’s one more kitty that’s missing. I cannot find the picture I took of it 😦
