Change of plans

This morning I got up with plans of heading to church with my sister and her family.

Unfortunately, we are getting a ton of snow. The roads were bad and as she lives 20 miles away I decided to turn around having witnessed three cars already in the ditch.

So instead here I sit with a warm cup of coffee, paints and brushes and my imagination.

It’s Zellie Bellies turn to be immortalized on canvas!

I really wish I could have made it to church, it’s been a while and I was looking forward to it, but painting is also a good way to spend a cold snowy Sunday morning.

Morning walks with my pooch

Since moving into my new home I have been walking my dog on a leash.  I have decided to see it as an opportunity to get some much needed exercise for myself and Z, my quirky little terrier mix.  Seeing it that way helps me trick myself into looking at it as a plus when my body wants to label it as a punishment.

Fortunately, it has also given me the opportunity to really take in the sky that has been so amazing these past few days.  I get to admire the beauty while Z does her business, and wonder if the ducks and geese on the frozen pond delay their flight south to enjoy the magic too.
